Trashed and Scattered

A loud bang clapped throughout the air and the ground rumbled beneath my feet knocking me over. Cursing under my breath I looked up towards the sky seeing a large plume of smoke rising into the air where my college stood. Getting to my feet I raced the way I came to be greeted with nothing but smoldering rumble where Wheston University once stood. Tears weld up into my eyes when I hear shouts coming from the horrific scene. It was dreadful all the tainted ground. I couldn’t help but feel bad for the place even if they had expelled me and the teachers were horrible. The ground was all ashes; so when I stepped forward my white converse turned black than a deadly red color. I was horrified that I had stepped on a dead body, but it lay in a dead raccoon. “Oh god…” Revolted I covered my nose and moved forward but a sudden force pushed me down. I couldn’t make out what, or who did so because I simply didn’t have the time because I was out cold. After I came too I discovered I was tied to a chair. Moving my head a moan escaped my lips as sharp pain jolted throughout my head. Biting my lip I force myself to ignore the pain to take in my surroundings. I was in the middle of a small dimly light room that smelled of mold and rotting meat, with that and my pounding head made me want to hurl with each and every breath I took. The walls were made of cement bricks and looked to be splattered with what looked like blood which I was desperately hoping it wasn’t. There was a small rotting door kitty corner from me that looked like it would only take one punch or kick to make it crumble. Closing my eyes and sighing I finally gave into the throbbing pain and let my head slump forward. Hearing the door scrap against the dirty tiled floor a horrendous chuckle fills the dead silent air I kept my eyes closed in hopes of who ever took me will think I’m still unconscious and they’ll leave. Hearing the door close I sigh a breath of relief thinking they fell for my plan, I feel a hand clamp around my hair and forcefully yank my head back hard causing me to snap my eyes open and watch the room spin wildly out of control.
“Hello Lindsey.” A deep alluring voice purrs into my ear sending chills up my spine.
“Who are you? How do you know my name?” I try my best to hide the fear in my voice, but fail miserably because it comes out high pitched and squeaky.
Moving around the chair he stayed to the shadows of the room so I counldn't get a good look of his face. “You should know me. We take…” stopping he chuckles to himself than continues. “We took chemistry together. I sat three tables behind you.” Assuming he can see the confusion on my face I see his hand slide down his face. “Remember that note in your locker a few days ago, the one about someone making bombs in the school and planning to blow it up? My friend and I were in it together though I never thought he would betray me so I had to take care of him. I planned on doing it anyways after he helped me set the bombs, but well I can’t have a liability hanging around me.” Fear flashes across my face as I hear his words and watch him walk behind the chair I’m sitting in. “Yup Miss Lindsey I’m the one that blew that precious school to pieces.” I feel a sharp prick on my cheek and I can feel the blood ooze and run down my face. “Do you remember me yet?”
“I…I…” I think to my best capability but I still keep drawing blanks. “I don’t.” I sigh out in defeat. He slams his foot into the side of the chair and I fall helplessly to the cold floor yelping when my body and head connect to the floor. Tears spring to my eyes when I see blood stains all over it. Footsteps echo throughout the room and a pair of red dirty running shoes appear in my vision blocking out the horrid stains.
“Lindsey really I’m disappointed you don’t know who I am. Heartbroken actually because I love you , you know that?” Grunting he kneels down, my heart begins to pound and it feels like it’s about to jump from my chest when his hands and face appear. He has shaggy black hair that hangs into his ocean blue eyes. His features are strong and rigid; he has a small scar on his check that adds to his absolute stunning appearance. That’s when it hits me I know exactly who he is. He’s one of them good looking geeky kids. I remember he always got picked on and no one wanted to be around him because he was so weird. “Bridger.” A devilish smile spreads across his face when I say his name. “I knew you would recognize me.”
“Why did you kidnap me? And why blow up the school, there was innocent people in there!” I ask through gritted teeth. Throwing his head back he laughs as if I should already know the answers. “Because angel that school was nothing but full of prissy judgmental snobs, like that boyfriend of yours.” My heart sinks when I think of Shadix, I talked to him shortly before the explosion and I can only hope he wasn’t near the school when Bridger blew it up. “When my locker was filled with cow crap that was the last straw I had had enough of all their bull. I’d been studying with my friend on how to build bombs. I figured I’d be doing society a nice duty by removing them all from the face of this planet. Though when I decided to make my big bang I wanted to make sure you weren’t in or near the school when it all went down. That’s why I pretended to be someone from the hospital saying that your mother and father were in the emergency room. I didn’t think you would actually call their cell just to make sure. You’re a smart thinker there Lindsey.” I open my mouth to ask how he knew I called but he placed one of his fingers to my mouth stopping me. “I know what you’re thinking, I followed you to make sure you weren’t near the place, but when you stopped I knew my plan was foiled so I blew it all to bits before you could head back.” Staring off into space he twirled the knife between his fingers.
“But you didn’t say why you kidnapped me.” My voice startling him he drops the knife and immediately snatches it off the floor. Rolling my eyes, “Not like I could have taken it anyway smart one.”
He shoots me a look and ignores my comment by answering my question. “Why? Because Lindsey you were different from the others.” Taking his free hand he caresses my cheek and I hold back the urge to vomit. “I mean yeah you were beautiful like them, with your long wavy blonde hair, delicate features, a smile to die for and those gorgeous green eyes that could stop any guy in their tracks. It was hard not to fall for you the instant I saw you, but of course I did. It didn’t help that you didn’t treat me like those other scumbags did.” Removing his hand he got up and I bit my lip thankful that he was no longer touching me. I feel myself and the chair being lifted from the floor and within an instant his face was in front of mine and I could feel his hot breath against my lips. “Say you’ll be mine?” His lips brush against mine and my body instantly tenses with the foreign touch.
“Go to HELL!” I scream into his face, which goes from calm to angry in a split second. His hand connects with my face hard causing my head to spin. Tears run down my dirty ash streaked face. “Then you must die, because if I can’t have you than no one else can!” My sobs bounce off the walls as I watch him grab a small syringe off of a wooden table that I don’t recall being there before. Tapping the side of it he squirts clear liquid out than moves towards me plunging it deep into my arm. Burning instantly fills me as it works its way through my blood stream making me cry out in pain. Grabbing my face he forces me to look at him. “Can you feel it eating at you as it crawls its way through your body?” Releasing me he grabs another syringe purging it into my shoulder. “FEEL IT!” he screams into my tear and sweat streaked face.
“YES! Please, please stop!” I shriek back at him. My heart races faster and I can feel it eating at me. His laughter floods into my ears as he sees the horrific look on my face. “I can’t do that even if I wanted to.” His voice is full of amusement as he walks over to the tiny wooden table snatching up a small bottle. “See this here?” Waving the bottle in front of my face, but I can’t read it through my tear filled eyes. “Its hydrochloric acid, it’s a type of acid that burns and slowly eats you alive, but here’s the thing I’ve also filled it with high doses of cyanide. So who knows maybe you‘ll die from poisoning instead of being eaten alive. Either way I’m going to enjoy watching you die a slow and painful death.” Humming he paces around the chair watching me squirm in agony.
The clanging of a knife echoes into my ears and I feel my ties being cut, but I’m shoved to the floor hard turned over and straddled by him. He slides the knife down the opposite arm that he’s been injecting the deadly poison into me. I watch him pull it up examine it and lick the blood clean off of it. Turning my head sideways I vomit onto the floor which makes him laugh harder. “Now don’t worry about me, your blood wasn’t all bubbly so it wasn’t highly contaminated yet I think I’ll survive. But god you taste good.” Tilting his head he examines my face and I can see him staring at my lips. “Makes me wonder what your kisses taste like.”Grabbing my face he places his lips hard against mine. “Ah exactly how I thought you would taste like.” His breath is sickly hot against my neck and I try my best to struggle against him, but it’s useless I’m too weak to fight him off. Getting up he heads back to the table, obviously knowing I can’t go anywhere. “You know Lindsey you’ll be the tenth girl I’ve killed?” I lay silently on the cold dirty floor letting my tears drip onto it. “Neither of them would love me back. So obviously they had to go through some form of torture like you are now. My first was back in high school. Maybe you knew her? Stephanie Miller? I pushed her off a four story building, but everyone said it was suicide. The rush was amazing though as I watched her fall and hit the ground. Ah than there was Kelly I torched her inside of her car. Oh and there was Jasmine, Amanda, and Trish I shot them to death here in this very room. And if I recall Lauren, Lillie, Camille, and Monica were stabbed to death here too. So to answer any questions, yes that really is blood on the floor and walls. “
He walks over with another syringe and as he get ready to plunge this one into my back the door flies open and Shadix steps in. Bridger drops the syringe and lunges towards Shadix who meets him half way. Shadix shoves him to the ground and glares at him. I’m saved I think to myself as I find a reason to struggle and fight for my life. The acid burns more and I’m beginning to fill sick to my stomach. Shadix glances over at me locking his eyes with mine. “I’m so sorry for getting you into this.” His voice if full of hurt and sorrow.
“I told you not to get attached to her. You knew I was going to do this no matter what.” Confusion settles on my face as I try to think of what Bridger could possibly mean. There was no way Shadix could of known this was going to happen to me, he would of let me know. Wouldn’t of he? “You knew I was following her, you knew I wanted her!”
“Shut up Bridger!” Shadix yells at him. “I told you not to go near her. I knew the plan was to kill her if she didn’t want to be with you, but I fell in love with her instead! And what the hell did you do to the school! I thought you were joking about blowing it sky high. None of those people did anything to you!”
“You knew I couldn’t leave her alone brother! She has to die! And as far as the school all those scumbags got what was coming to them. They deserved every bit of pain they felt, they all treated me like I was nothing!” I whimper as Bridger’s words finally sink in and I begin to cry again. Both of them look my way Shadix with sadness in his eyes and Bridger with anger and resentment in his. “God Bridger there’s no way we can cover that up.” Shadix leans down and touches my bleeding arm and I flinch from his touch, hurt flashes across his face for a second but replaced with anger. “You knew Bridger.” He shrugs. “You’re point?” I can see the anger well up more in Shadix as he grabs the nearby knife and lunge for Bridger. I watch helplessly as Bridger grabs the knife from Shadix and plunge it into his chest. He turns towards me once Shadix collapses to the ground with fury behind his eyes and a twisted smile across his face as he raises the knife above his head. “Isn’t it great to find out that the one man you loved so much killed as many girls as I have?” I cry out as a shot rings throughout the small damp room. Shock spreads across his face as he looks down blood spreads out across his white shirt. I look over and see Shadix on his knees with a gun in his hand. Bridger crumbles falling on top of me, the knife plunging into my chest. I gasp as my body is filled with more pain, blood runs from my mouth and weightlessness fills my body. Shadix crawls over and grasps my hand. “I’m so sorry Lindsey. I truly and will always love you.” Those were the last words I heard as I passed into the black abyss.
